Boredom. We all experience it. We get bored with work or we get bored with school. We get bored at home. We get bored with our partner. We get bored in bed.

I think one of our (the global “our”) biggest problems living in this century is that we get bored when we’re not constantly being stimulated.

We expect our job to fulfill us in every way. We expect school to answer all of our questions and prepare us fully for the world “outside.” We expect our family to make everything right and we expect our partner to be a friend, lover, parent and playmate, all in one! If we’re bored, it’s easy to blame others, our situation or our environment, rather than ourselves. The truth is, every individual has a responsibility to herself or himself to make life interesting.

That includes life in the bedroom!

We expect a sexual encounter to be “the ultimate” every time! But ultimately, we’re going to be disappointed.

It could be your mood, it could be hormones, it could be external pressures, or, it could have nothing to do with you... it could be your partner’s own issues. Or it could be the weather, the planets, something totally beyond your control.

The point is, sometimes you have to work at it. Sometimes, you can’t leave it up to fate... you have to make your own fireworks.

And that’s one of the reasons they (whoever “they” is), invented adult “toys” and sexy lingerie. They weren’t just whistling Dixie… there’s obviously a market for it… a huge market for it! What does that mean? You’re not the only one!

So, my friends, the next time you’re feeling bored with your partner -- or with yourself -- put away the Ladies’ Home Journal and get out the toys. Make your own fun. It’ll do wonders for your sex life and you can kiss your boredom goodbye!
