My girlfriends don’t talk about sex anymore.
I don’t know when it happened or why, but it happened.
When I “go out with the girls,” we talk about work, the family, the pets, but not about sex.
There was a time when you went out with the girls specifically because it gave you the opportunity to talk about sex. Goodness knows, you couldn’t discuss it with your family, or the men you were dating, or your co-workers/boss! But the girls club, hell, yes!
So besides the fact that we’ve gotten older and supposedly more mature, why don’t we talk about sex anymore? Is it old news? Is no one having sex anymore? And if they are having sex, when did it get so private? When did the girls club get the boot?
Has it become politically incorrect to talk about sex?
I can’t believe that sex talk is over just because we’re “over the hill” or over 35!
True, I don’t buy Cosmo anymore – it’s way too young for me, but are the Ladies Home Journal-type magazines desensitizing us? Have we been brainwashed to believe that sex talk is passé. Something is amiss.
Well, there’s only one way to tell for sure. The next time you go out for “girls’ night,” bring it up. Anyone have good sex lately? Or bad sex? Or any sex?!
I know I’ve been threatening this for months, but we have got to get our Sex Survey online. I need answers! In the meantime, if you can shed some light on the subject, please feel free to comment on our blog.
